"Finding
Time To Exercise" Ah, what a fast world we
live in – we’ve got satellite television, the information
superhighway, can be reached virtually anywhere via cellular
phone . . . all the technological advances that speeds life
up. Because life is sped up so much, we should have more free
time than ever – right? WRONG!! We are busier than ever!
All this technology has done for us is make it easier to get
things done – so we can try and do even more. Consequently,
we do more than we ever used to. We perform business on the
phone while we drive, we bring work home on our laptops, and
we can be reached anywhere via our pagers.
Because of all this, fewer and fewer people are exercising.
Their reason: “I don’t have time.” Personally,
I think this is a load of crap. We all have the same 24 hours
in every day; we just all choose to spend if differently. So
anybody that says they can’t find time to exercise doesn’t
hold exercise, training, or their health as a very high priority.
With all that said, let’s say you still can’t find
an hour to exercise during the day. So what? That does not mean
you can’t train! Do you have an extra 15 minutes? Yes,
you do. I don’t care who you are, or what you do, EVERYBODY
can spare at least 15 minutes during their day. Now, some of
you might be saying, “Yeah, well, so what? How am I going
get (and more importantly, keep) in shape or exercise in 15
minutes?” Glad you asked…
Let’s take a look at just a sampling of routines you
could easily perform AT HOME, with minimal equipment, and in
15 minutes:
-500 Squats
-10-15 sets of dumbbell Shoulder Presses
-8-10 sets of Chin-Ups
-200 Push-Ups
-Run/Jog 1.5-2 miles
-Shadowbox four, 3 minute rounds (with 60 seconds rest)
-1000+ yards of dragging exercises
-A decent calisthenics circuit: -100 High Knees, then:
-10 Dive-Bomber Push-Ups
-20 Sit-ups
-30 Squats (repeat Push-Ups, Sit-ups, Squats for 5 circuits)
-50 Burpees
Should I go on? Doing one of the above every day, combined
with a decent diet could easily keep you in shape. And, imagine
if you could find 15 minutes to perform one of the above twice
per day…
Train Hard, Rest Hard, Play Hard.
